GBI boots hit the ground in the southern reaches of Wyoming for our first season in the “Cowboy State.” GBI has supported botany programs for the BLM in California, Idaho and Nevada, and now has responded to the state office in Wyoming to support the implementation of “Seeds of Success,” a national strategy to preserve and protect native plant species.

Seeds of Success (SOS) is part of the federal interagency Native Plant Materials Development Program. In partnership with the seed producing industry, SOS supports and coordinates seed collection from native plant populations to increase the number of species and the amount of native seeds available for use in stabilizing, rehabilitating and restoring lands in the United States. As GBI expands monitoring of range conditions, the SOS program will integrate with these broader survey efforts.
