Corey Lange grew up in rural Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University in 2012 with a B.S. in Animal Ecology. His graduate work on the impacts of wind energy and sea level rise on Redheads along the lower Texas coast led to the completion of a Master’s degree in Range and Wildlife Management from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2014. Corey then worked for the University of Illinois at Springfield as a project coordinator for the Illinois Endangered Species Lab, where he worked on projects studying Franklin’s Ground Squirrel, Osprey, and Short-eared Owl. He now supports GBI with the supervision, management, and coordination of AIM field crews for BLM California. When not at work, you can find Corey spending his time birding, kayaking, and searching for and documenting rare and endangered species.
