Chris Warner has been involved with national service and environmental stewardship for the past 15 years. After graduating from Villanova University (BA Sociology) in 1998, Chris served for two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, coordinating environmental education in Chester, PA. Moving 125 miles south, he worked for 18 months in Annapolis, MD as an Environmental Management Fellow in support of EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Program. After relocating to the mountain west in 2002, he received his MA in Political Science (Environmental Policy) from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2005. In August of 2005 Chris joined the GBI team as the first Research Associate Program Director, a position he held for nearly six years. In July 2011 he moved back to the mid-Atlantic with his family, where he continues to support GBI and its RA Program. When he isn’t playing with his young daughter, Chris enjoys cooking, gardening and bird-watching with his wife, as well as exploring PA’s mixed conifer and hardwood forests and surrounding farm country.
