Great Basin Institute, in partnership with the Eldorado National Forest, invites prospective bidders to join a pre-bid tour of three priority projects available for contracting in FY 2023 -24. The tour includes the Scottiago Forest Health Project (est. 1,200 ac), the Vulcan Fire Salvage Skyline Project Phase One (est. 823 ac) and the Caldor Fire Hazard Tree Removal Project Phase One (est. 1,000 ac) on National Forest Service Lands on the Placerville and Georgetown Ranger Districts. Project activities are implemented in partnership with USFS Region 5 under a Master Stewardship Agreement.
The Scottiago Project furthers roadside strategic fuels reduction initiatives to promote forest health and wildfire resiliency, primarily through mastication, while the Caldor Fire Hazard Tree Removal Project Phase One will treat priority units within high burn severity areas, principally along Plum Creek Road (10N40), Capps Reservoir (09N30) and Bonetti Mine Road (10N55). Vulcan Fire Salvage Skyline Project will address Mosquito Fire Phase One salvage removal priorities. Fuels reduction and biomass removal is expected to begin in Summer 2023 and be completed by December 31, 2024. The purpose of the pre-bid tours is to facilitate the bid solicitation process for proposals with a revised bid response due June 5th, 2023. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this opportunity. Please contact us with any questions. RSVP to jkeir@gbinstitute.org by April 27th if you plan to attend the tours.
