Galena Creek Visitors Center & Nature Programs
Situated just south of Reno where the Great Basin meets the Carson Range, Galena Creek Recreational Area gives people of all ages the chance to experience “Life on the Edge.” The park offers easy access to sagebrush valleys, forested mountains, and vibrant, four-season Galena Creek. The park’s “transition zone” flora and fauna make it a unique and ideal setting for outdoor learning and adventure. Visitors can access Galena Creek Recreational Area from the Mt. Rose Scenic byway, Route 431. We anticipate opening the Galena Creek Visitor’s Center in July 2010, upon completion of scheduled upgrades to Highway 431.
