Great Basin Naturalists Day Camp
Essential Details

When: Monday-Friday DAY program. 8 am to 5 pm. Drop-off at 7:30 am, Pick-up by 5:30
Dates: Weekly from 6/21/10 to 8/27/10. The week of July 4th, camp will only run Tuesday through Friday.
Who: Campers ages 8-12
Tuition: $195 per week; campers bring their own bag lunch.
Where: The Galena Creek Regional Park is base of operations, with the Fish Hatchery Building & Camp We Ch Me our indoor refuges, for stormy weather, guest presenters, and classroom activities.
Camper 2010 Application
We will begin to process applications on March 15. Just click on “Camper 2010 Application” above to download a pdf version of this document. If you have a child who is 7 or 13, we will consider accepting them after a face-to-face meeting with the child and parents and/or guardians. To introduce your child to us, please consider attending one of our Discovery Day events (listed below).
Dates and Camp Themes
Camp will run Monday through Friday, June 21 to August 27th, from 8 am to 5 pm. Each week will have a different theme, which you can view descriptions of by clicking on “Dates and Camp Themes” above. The mornings at camp will be more focused on educational and service-learning activities, while afternoons will emphasize play and recreational activity.
Important Forms
These include medical history, camper pick-up forms, a packing list and out of camp field trip forms. A complete packet will be mailed to you upon receipt and processing of your child’s application.
Discovery Day Events
Come meet some of the camp staff and try out hands-on activities planned for this year’s camp.
We have events planned for April 3, April 17, May 1, and May 15. These events will run from 10 to 2 pm at Galena Creek Regional Park. From 10:00 to 11:30 am we will have hands-on activities. Bring a lunch and join us a 12 noon for a kids hike.
